Description
Ducklings, hatched right here and raised the first stretch of their lives under our watch before they go home with you. Ducks are a different animal to keep than chickens, messier with water and a little louder about it, but the personality they bring to a backyard flock more than makes up for it.
Our duck flock is a working mix rather than a single named breed, so expect some variation in coloring as they grow into their feathers. What you can count on is a healthy, active duckling that has already cleared the hardest first days of life before it leaves our place.
Before you bring them home
- Set up a brooder with a heat source and non-slip footing, ducklings are hard on wet bedding so plan to change it often.
- Use waterfowl or non-medicated chick starter, and give them water deep enough to dunk their whole bill but not so deep they can fall in and get stuck.
- Ducklings grow fast. Expect to need bigger housing sooner than you would with chicks.
Pickup and local delivery only. Like our chicks, ducklings are too delicate to ship. Plan on picking up at the farm or arranging local delivery. Priced per duckling, select the quantity you need above.
