Welcome to Ferrand Farms. These Terms and Conditions cover the rules for using this website and buying from us. We are a small, family-run farm in upstate South Carolina, not a large retailer, and these terms are written to reflect that. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to the terms below. If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use the site or place an order.
What We Sell
We sell farm-fresh goods, and some of them are not like a typical online order. Please read the notes below before you buy.
- Fresh and perishable goods. Chicken and duck eggs are perishable. We gather and pack them carefully, but once an order leaves the farm, timely pickup or prompt refrigeration on arrival is on you.
- Live animals. Baby chicks, ducklings, laying hens, and roosters are living animals, not standard merchandise. These are sold for local pickup or local delivery only, and by ordering, you confirm you are able to provide appropriate housing and care. We do everything we can to send home healthy animals, but livestock health can change after they leave our care, and we cannot guarantee outcomes once an animal has left the farm.
- Seeds. We sell true seeds from our own growing beds and describe them as accurately as we can. Germination and growing results depend on your soil, climate, and care, none of which we control, so we cannot guarantee a particular harvest.
Orders and Payment
Orders are placed and paid for through our online store, built on WooCommerce, with payments handled securely by WooCommerce Payments. Please provide accurate contact and shipping or pickup information. If something in your order needs coordination, such as scheduling pickup for live animals, we will reach out using the details you provide at checkout.
Shipping and Local Pickup
Eggs, seeds, and farm boxes ship or are available for pickup depending on the item. Live animals are local pickup or local delivery only, as noted on each product page. We aim to ship and prepare orders promptly, but weather, hatching schedules, and the realities of a working farm can occasionally affect timing. We will let you know if anything is delayed.
Returns and Refunds
Our full return and refund policy, including how we handle perishable and live items, is on our Refund and Returns Policy page. If anything about your order is not right, contact us first. We would rather make it right directly than have you deal with a rigid policy that does not fit a small farm.
Your Account
If you create an account to check out or track orders, you are responsible for keeping your login information private and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Using This Website
- Use the site and our forms for their intended purpose: browsing, ordering, and reaching out to us.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the site, scrape it at scale, or access parts of it without authorization.
- Content on this site, including our photos, growing guides, and recipes, belongs to Ferrand Farms. You are welcome to share links to our pages, but please do not republish our text or photos as your own.
No Guarantees Beyond What We State
We describe our products honestly and do our best to get every order right. Beyond what is stated on this site and in our Refund and Returns Policy, we do not make additional guarantees, and we are not responsible for indirect losses related to the use of our products, including outcomes with live animals after they leave our care or garden results from seeds we sell.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, please contact us before anything else. Most issues with a small farm are best solved with a direct conversation, and we would much rather hear from you and fix it than have a dispute escalate.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms occasionally as the farm and the store grow. We will update the date below when we do. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
