About Us

A small farm, run the honest way

Ferrand Farms is a small, family-owned farm in upstate South Carolina, run by William and Brenda Ferrand since the early 2020s. We raise chickens and ducks, keep a busy compost operation of red wiggler worms, and grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers from our own beds — the same seeds we sell to you.

Everything here is small-batch by choice. We’d rather keep our flock healthy and our garden manageable than grow faster than we can do right by it.

Our backyard coop, hens, and garden beds

What we raise

Free-range chickens and ducks for eggs, chicks, and ducklings — plus a busy population of red wiggler worms for composting.

What we grow

Vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed — the same varieties we grow ourselves are what we sell in the Seed Center.

How we do it

Sustainably, in small batches, with animals that are never crowded and soil that’s never rushed.

The family

William and Brenda Ferrand take pride in this farm and the animals on it — sustainable practices aren’t a marketing line here, they’re just how a small operation like ours has to run to stay healthy. If you know the Ferrand name from elsewhere, you may also know Country Girl Grit, another family project.

Got a question about the farm, an order, or just want to say hi? Reach out here — we read every message ourselves.
