Getting started
Culinary herbs are forgiving for a first-time grower. Most want at least six hours of sun, well-drained soil, and to dry out somewhat between waterings rather than staying constantly wet. A sunny kitchen windowsill or a pot on the porch works just as well as a garden bed if space is tight.
