How to Grow Oregano
Planting
Best from a transplant, seed is slow and inconsistent. Give it a well-drained spot, oregano actually prefers lean soil over rich, heavily-fed beds.
Watering & feeding
Let it dry out between waterings, oregano is genuinely drought-tolerant once established and rots easily in soggy soil.
Harvest
Snip just before it flowers for the strongest flavor, and cut regularly, oregano gets woody and sparse if it’s left alone too long.
