How to Grow Strawberries
Planting
Best from bare-root crowns or transplants, set with the crown right at soil level, not buried and not exposed. Give runners room to fill in around the mother plants.
Watering & feeding
Consistent moisture, especially while fruit is developing, mulch with straw to keep berries clean and off the soil.
Harvest
Pick only fully red berries, they don’t ripen further once picked. Morning harvest, after dew dries, gives the best flavor.
Grows Well With
